Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 9, 2026
PATEX (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") complies with relevant laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act, and establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to protect users' personal information.
1. Items of Personal Information Collected and Collection Methods
- Upon membership registration: Name, email address, password
- When ordering and shipping products: Name of the orderer and recipient, shipping address, phone number, email address, payment-related information (payment method, approval details — the Company does not store sensitive payment information such as card numbers; this is handled by an electronic payment service provider)
- Upon newsletter subscription: Email address
- Upon customer inquiry: Name, email address, inquiry details
- Automatically collected during service use: IP address, cookies, access records, device/browser information
2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information
- Performance of contracts such as product sales, order confirmation, payment, delivery, returns, and refunds
- Member management (identity verification, inquiry response, notification delivery)
- Marketing and advertising (newsletter dispatch — only for those who have consented to receive it)
- Service improvement, statistical analysis, prevention of unauthorized use
3. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information
The Company destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of collection has been achieved. However, it is retained for the following periods in accordance with relevant laws and regulations:
- Records on contracts or subscription withdrawals: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
- Records on payment and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
- Records on consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
- Records on display and advertising: 6 months (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
- Website visit records: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)
4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Company uses users' personal information within the scope notified in "2. Purpose of Collection and Use" and does not provide it to third parties without the user's prior consent. However, exceptions are made in cases where there is a request from investigative agencies based on legal provisions or for investigation purposes in accordance with the procedures and methods stipulated by law.
5. Entrustment of Personal Information Processing
The Company entrusts the processing of personal information as follows to the extent necessary for service provision:
- Shopify Inc. — Shopping mall hosting and storage of order and member data
- PortOne Inc. and affiliated electronic payment service providers (PG) — Payment processing (PG company name: Input Required)
- UPS — Product delivery
When concluding a consignment contract, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company specifies in the contract or other documents restrictions on processing personal information beyond the purpose of the consigned task, restrictions on re-consignment, and management/supervision of the consignee.
6. Overseas Transfer of Personal Information
The Company utilizes Shopify Inc.'s cloud infrastructure for shopping mall operations, and accordingly, personal information may be stored overseas.
- Recipient: Shopify Inc. (Canada) and its affiliates
- Items transferred: Name, email, address, phone number, order details, and other collection items from Article 1
- Country of transfer and time/method: Canada, USA, etc., where Shopify data centers are located, transfer via network when using the service
- Retention and use period: Same as the retention period in Article 3
Users can refuse overseas transfer, but in this case, service use may be restricted.
7. Personal Information Destruction Procedures and Methods
Personal information for which the retention period has expired or the processing purpose has been achieved is destroyed without delay. Electronic file formats are permanently deleted in a way that prevents recovery, and paper documents are shredded or incinerated.
8. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them
Users can at any time request to view, correct, delete, or suspend the processing of their personal information. Rights can be exercised directly on the account page, or by requesting in writing or email to the personal information protection officer below, and the Company will take action without delay. Personal information of children under 14 years of age is not collected.
9. Use of Cookies
The Company uses cookies to provide customized services to users. Cookies are used to maintain shopping cart contents, maintain login status, and save language/region settings. Users can refuse to store cookies through browser settings, but in this case, there may be difficulties in using some services.
10. Measures to Secure the Safety of Personal Information
- Minimization and management of personal information access rights
- Encryption of transmission sections (SSL/TLS) and encrypted storage of important information such as passwords
- Operation of security systems against hacking (including Shopify infrastructure's security system)

12. Duty of Notification
Any additions, deletions, or modifications to this Privacy Policy will be notified through announcements on the mall at least 7 days prior to the effective date.
13. Language
This policy is written in Korean, and in case of any discrepancy between the translated version and the Korean version, the Korean version shall prevail.
